Thinking about taking the plunge?

SWIMMING is a sport with many benefits that include fitness, fun and a chance to cool off over the hot summer months.

The Nyah Two Bays Swan Hill Swimming Club is welcoming all newcomers considering the sport to join them tomorrow for an afternoon in the pool.

Head coach Renee Louw said the club would be holding several Come-and-try days in the coming weeks with tomorrow's session focussing on the four major strokes across 25m and 50m.

"Tomorrow is not competitive at all, but it's a chance for people to come along and try out swimming for themselves," she said.

"We will have staff there to offer tips about freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and we welcome all the community to come along and have a go.

"It's a chance to experience the swimming club environment with no intimidation.

"Everyone at the club knows each other and will make newcomers very welcome."

The first come-and-try session will be conducted over two hours starting at 4pm tomorrow at the Swan Hill indoor pool.

"The cost is $10 and it will be nice and warm so weather won't be a worry," Louw said.

"I will be leading a few light lessons, but there will be no right or wrongs, we really just want people who have been thinking about swimming as a sport to come along and get involved."
