Roos get major facelift

BALRANALD Football and Netball Club will kick off the 2020 season off with refurbished function room facilities.

Club committee member Ian Bridgewood said the club received $221,000 in funding to complete the works.

The grant was handed to the club by former Minister for Sport Bridget McKenzie through a grant.

The work on the council-owned building includes new flooring and ceiling, kitchen improvements and miscellaneous work.

Earlier this month Mr Bridgewood told The Guardian the club had seven weeks to complete the works before the football and netball season commenced.

"We couldn't do anything until the vinyl (in the kitchen) went down," he said.

"It will give us much better facilities then we've had."

Each Thursday the club also caters dinner for between 150-180 solar farm workers, 50 footballers and their partners and community members.
