THE Swan Hill Flyers' men's side were unable to finish the season on a high, but showed promise for future years.

Following a 14-point defeat to the Echuca Pirates on Saturday night, the Flyers returned and fought out a gallant four-point loss to the second-placed Maryborough Blazers.
