THE 2019/20 Swan Hill and District Cricket Association two-day grand final opponents have been decided, with St Mary’s Tyntynder and RSL winning their way through in Saturday’s semi-
finals.

ST Mary’s Tyntynder earned their second consecutive two-day grand final appearance after defeating Woorinen by 28 runs last Saturday at Ken Harrison Reserve. 
The Bulldogs were bowled all out for 148 runs in the opening day, with Tigers’ paceman Stefan Mangiameli claiming figures of 6-41 off 33 overs. 
A second-wicket partnership of 55 runs between Jack Shannahan and Jonty Chaproniere salvaged a rocky start at 1-1. 
But once Stefan found the breakthrough wicket of Shannahan through some great work behind the stumps from Daniel Mangiameli, the wickets began to tumble. 
Stefan took the scalp of the dangerous Corey Daniels (1) and Gurmander Singh trapped Jonty Chaproniere LBW for 38, before Stefan ripped through the middle order with four consecutive scalps. 
The 27-run sixth-wicket stand between St Mary’s Tyntynder captain Matt Barnes (17) and Tim Free pushed the side over the 100-run threshold. 
Free continued his patient innings of 42 runs off 144 to push the Bulldogs from 4-69 to 8-147 before being the ninth wicket to fall. 
With Woorinen pair Singh (2-42) and Glenn Violi (2-24) pitching in with scalps, St Mary’s Tyntynder were bowled all out with eight overs remaining in the 80-over first day. 
St Mary’s Tyntynder opening bowlers Nathaniel Holmes-Brown and Corey Daniels each got their defence off to an ideal start with one scalp each to have Woorinen 2-1. 
Angus Boyd-Law and Dean Morpeth began Woorinen’s batting recovery and finished the opening day unbeaten before Holmes-Brown found the key scalp early in the second day of Morpeth (31 off 51). 
3-44 quickly turned into 7-63 with Holmes-Brown and Daniels continuing their bowling onslaught with two scalps each. 
Boyd-Law survived the carnage and created a 47-run partnership with Stefan Mangiameli (23 not out) to draw within 39 runs of victory with plenty of overs in hand. 
But once spinner Dom Violi found the prized scalp of Boyd-Law to bring his patient 143-ball innings of 42 runs to a close, Woorinen’s hopes of a grand final berth were left in tatters. 
Harry Harcourt was run out for five runs before Holmes-Brown fittingly found the last scalp of Robert Rush (0) next ball to secure his five-wicket haul and bowl the Tigers out for 120 with 35.2 overs to play. 
RSL def Nyah District
RSL will return to the two-day grand final stage after last season’s absence, stopping Nyah District from defending their title in the process with a 44-run win. 
Opener Ryan Hinton produced a match-winning captain’s knock of 74 runs as the Blues posted an imposing 173 runs for the Demons to chase. 
The day didn't start well as a mix-up resulted in Brenton Caldwell being run-out for a diamond duck early in the piece, but Hinton made up for it. 
Producing strong partnerships with Patrick Caldwell (11) and Stuart Patterson (24) in a 31-run third-wicket and 37-run fourth-wicket stand, respectively, Hinton pushed RSL to 131 runs. 
Nyah District's Jack Millard dismissed Hinton early in his spell to claim the seventh wicket of the innings, but a strong cameo from Stuart McGregor (25) at the tail dragged the Blues to 173 all out. 
Opening bowlers, skipper Joel Walsh (4-56) and Ben Shadbolt (3-65), did the damage with the ball, but couldn’t often enough as RSL only fell 16 balls shy of batting out their innings and the first day. 
Blues’ opening paceman Cameron Cook and Brenton Caldwell had the Demons’ batsmen on the back foot in reply early with three wickets between them. 
With Demons opener Shane Fleming (1) and league-leading runscorer, captain Joel Walsh (6) both departing, Nyah District looked in trouble at 3-12. 
A 32-run stand between Demons’ experienced batsmen Dean Harrop and Justin Toomey (22) were steadying the ship before Brenton found success again in his second spell. 
Brenton dismissed Toomey (22) then Bailey Codling (4) a few (overs later) to have Nyah District back on the ropes at 5-48. 
Another 43-run partnership between Harrop and Duane Bruton drew the Demons to within 82 runs of RSL’s total before spinner Stuart McGregor turned the game on its head. 
McGregor took four of the last five scalps of the innings, including both Harrop (23) and Bruton (45), as Nyah District were bowled out for 129 with 135 balls left in the day. 
Ashley Thompson’s (16) efforts batting in the tail were honourable, but McGregor made him the final scalp as he finished with figures of 4-23 off 16.3 overs. 
Cook and Brenton Caldwell were the other bowlers to take wickets for RSL, with three each.
