Driest spring on record

A COOL start to summer has followed what has been declared as Australia's driest spring on record.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), an average of 27.4mm fell across the nation last season, while the average temperature was 2.41 degrees above the long-term average, also making it the nation's second hottest spring in terms of maximum temperature.
