THE Finance Sector Union has called on Westpac to do better for the community, after it announced only eight out of 20 planned bank branch closures were being overturned.

FSU said Westpac had finally caved to pressure from bank workers and local communities by announcing it would cancel branch closures in Robinvale, Cloncurry, Ingham, Tully, Gatton, Sale, Denmark and Kingston.
