VICTORIAN Premier Daniel Andrews has paid tribute to long-time Villers-Bretonneux mayor Patrick Simon after his recent death from coronavirus.

"In 1918, an unbreakable bond was formed between the residents of a French village and the people of Australia," Mr Andrews said.
