FEDERAL Minister for Water Resources David Littleproud paid a brief visit to the Swan Hill region on Monday as part of a three-day tour of the southern basin.

But his reception was luke-warm, with close to 100 farmers blockading a bridge north of Swan Hill in an effort to have their concerns heard by the minister.

Speaking to The Guardian, Mr Littleproud said his visit revolved around water and its use within basin communities.
