Voting opens for first peoples’ assembly

VOTING has opened on the historic First Peoples' Assembly, with a polling place this week set up at the Swan Hill Town Hall.

The First Peoples' Assembly will be the voice of Aboriginal people in Victoria in the future treaty process.

Its role includes setting up the framework for negotiations. It is not being set up to negotiate treaties.
