VICTORIA Police is investigating allegations a police officer breached COVID-19 restrictions.
The Guardian was informed by a source that a police officer, from a station in Melbourne’s south-east, allegedly travelled from Melbourne to Swan Hill.
The source said the officer was a Leading Senior Constable who travelled for personal reasons.
In a statement, Victoria Police said it was aware of an allegation that a police officer may have breached the Chief Health Officer directions.
“Victoria Police takes all allegations of breaches of these directions seriously, especially those involving employees, and will be looking into the matter further,” a spokesperson said.
More to come.
