Vaccination clinic to close

THE public vaccination clinic at the Balranald Multipurpose Service will close permanently at the end of the month.

The public is urged not to miss the opportunity to get their COVID-19 vaccines or booster shots before then.

It's open Monday to Friday, 11am to 5.30pm, at the old emergency department in Market Street.

This closure is part of the local health district's transition to "business as normal”, and will allow staff working in the clinic to return to their previous role in facilities and health services.

"Please make an appointment or walk in to get your COVID-19 vaccination before this date," the NSW health department said in a statement.

"We extended operating days and hours for the Balranald MPS clinic in response to feedback from the public, who said they had difficulty attending the vaccination clinic when only open on a Wednesday. The extension of hours was to also assist those with school-aged children to attend.

"The COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots are free.

"The best way people can protect themselves from serious illness or worse is to get every vaccination available to them, whether that is their second, third, or fourth dose."

Walk-ins are welcome, but people can also use the Vaccine Clinic Finder to find and book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Vaccinations continue to be available at pharmacies.
