THE historic election of the First People's Assembly of Victoria has come to a close, with three successful candidates declared for the north-west region.

Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative chief executive Raylene Ivy Hardine, Jacinta Chaplin and Jason Kelly were elected from the field of nine standing for the region.
