Telling decline in inflows

THE dramatic reduction in inflows experienced in the Murray River system over the past 20 years was a telling find in a recent inquiry into the Murray-Darling basin's water resources, according to interim inspector-general Mick Keelty.

Water sharing between states dominated the inquiry, which heard from irrigators during a public forum in Swan Hill earlier this year.
