Telecom reforms to benefit

TELECOMMUNICATIONS reforms that passed the senate last week will benefit large areas of the regions, according to Federal Member for Mallee Anne Webster.

The reforms require all Australians to have access to broadband services from a 'statutory infrastructure provider' and require all larger fixed line broadband network operators serving metropolitan Australia to contribute to the cost of broadband in regional and remote communities.
