THE push to find the solution to agriculture labour hire shortage was addressed with a high-level workforce consultation session in Swan Hill earlier this week.
Member for Mallee Anne Webster along with representatives from the agriculture, immigration, employment, home and foreign affairs departments met with local growers, packers, labour hire contractors and local government representatives to discuss current challenges faced by the horticulture industry ahead of the picking season.
"There is significant concern about the seasonal labour workforce shortage and the upcoming harvest," Dr Webster told The Guardian.
