FORMER Balranald shire councillor Doug Allen has thanked the community for his time in the civic position.

The first-time councillor was elected onto Balranald Shire Council in September 2016.

Mr Allen didn't wish to speak to The Guardian following the dismissal of the council, but published a statement on his councillor Facebook page.
