SHEEP farmers across north-western Victoria are sighing with relief after the region secured endorsement as a biosecurity zone against the deadly ovine Johne's disease (OJD).

It is hoped the decision will see growers trading at higher prices from July 1.

It also means they will no longer have to supply the expensive and time-consuming negative OJD test when making sales.
