FIFTY years on from an ambush in midst of Vietnam's Long Hai Hills, Piangil's Harry Blandthorn recalls fighting, relatively inexperienced and outnumbered 10 to one.

The Long Hai Hills were a known Viet Cong stronghold, full of bunkers and defended by mines.
