CONSERVATIONISTS are calling for a full-time ranger to be appointed to a local forest, which they say has been neglected and needs protection from illegal firewood collectors. 

Friends of Nyah-Vinifera Forest was spurred into action last week after members discovered about 30 trees had been cut down or damaged.
