RESIDENTS in the Swan Hill region are covering up their faces, with people in the region complying with new rules.

Wearing a face covering in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire became mandatory on July 22, with regional Victoria following suit last Sunday night.

Police can fine people $200 for not not wearing a face covering.
