Parked into bench

A KERANG woman has escaped injury after crashing into a park bench in Lake Boga on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in front of Lake Boga Pharmacy on Marraboor Street just before midday.

Swan Hill police Constable Chris Baranyay said the 69-year-old woman hit the accelerator instead of the brakes when parking her vehicle.

"She drove into a park bench," Const Baranyay said.

"The car was written off, it had to be towed away."

The woman was not injured.

Lake Boga Pharmacy owner Troy Davis told The Guardian customers were in the store at the time.

"Everyone was facing the back of the shop and it happened behind everyone," Mr Davis said.

"I was the only one facing the accident.

"We all ran out and then a lady from the newsagency called the ambulance."

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics were called to the scene but no emergency care was required.
