Drivers booked during two-day police operation

DRIVERS BOOKED

DRUG and drink drivers have been caught during a two-day operation by Swan Hill police.

Swan Hill police Senior Constable Travis Collier said police conducted Operation Remote on June 18 and 19, targeting drug and alcohol drivers, and general traffic offences.

The operation was conducted in areas including Donald, Birchip, Watchem and Sea Lake.

Snr-Const Collier said the operation resulted in four positive fluid tests for driving whilst drug impaired, one positive preliminary breath test (PBT) and another driver processed for refusing a PBT.

He said other offences detected during the operation included speeding, unlicensed driving and failing to have an accompanying driver.

APPEAL FOR WITNESSES

SWAN Hill police are seeking witnesses to an incident that allegedly occurred on Campbell Street last Saturday night.

Police said the incident occurred at around 11.30pm, alleged to have spilled out onto the road, causing a passing car to stop.

Police believe a witness may be able to offer impartial insight into the circumstances of the incident.

WALLET STOLEN

A WALLET has allegedly been stolen from a vehicle parked on Makepeace Street, Swan Hill, last week.

Police said between 8am on June 15 and 9am on June 18, a theft from a motor vehicle was committed.

Police said the wallet contained cash, cards and a driver's licence.

VEHICLE DAMAGE

OFFENDER/S have allegedly caused damage to a vehicle parked on Connell Street, Swan Hill, by removing the passenger side mirror.

Police said the incident occurred between 6pm on June 19 and 8am on June 20.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

A THEFT from a vehicle has allegedly been committed outside a residence on Bryan Street, Swan Hill.

Police said the incident is believed to have occurred between 3.30pm on June 12 and 12.30pm on June 14.
