Night Series kicks off tonight

A HOST of football clubs will show off their new squad members as the 2016 Night Series officially begins.

While sides aren't playing for points, coaches are looking to form combinations that could potentially carry their sides through the Central Murray Football Netball League (CMFNL) season in 2016.

The first match-up of the Night Series will be between Lake Boga and Woorinen, with both sides opting to field their inexperienced players and their new recruits.

Woorinen senior coach Marcus DeMaria said this match will be one for his younger squad members.

"We have already had a few hit-outs so this will be a chance to play some of the younger kids, some of the older guys will sit it out," he said.

"The young guys will get the chance to show their skills, they can make a statement and really push for a spot in the senior squad this year. It will be getting these guys in who will be playing senior footy at some point this year, and then we will put on some recruits for find their best positions.
