POLICE have slammed drug and alcohol affected drivers leaving the weekend's Esoteric Festival in Donald for putting lives at risk on Mallee roads.

On Tuesday morning police had detected five drug affected drivers before 11am, a "horrendous" result, according to Swan Hill police Senior Sergeant Brad Bennett.
