THE Victorian Opposition has revealed it will "rebuild and restore" the Country Fire Authority (CFA) if it wins power at the next election as its career firefighters joined ranks in a new fire services regime this week.

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) replaces the Melbourne-based Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) and will operate in urban areas and major regional centres.
