Mott Appliance Repairs handed to new owners

Mott Appliances has been handed to new owners!

Mott Appliance Repairs started in 1984 when Lionel moved to Swan Hill and Karen worked at the then Retravision store.
In this time, Lionel and Karen have seen many changes in the industry, from appliances being more mechanical to now being very computerised – the good thing about this is that nothing is as heavy as it was 35 years ago.
We didn't have mobile phones back then either. Keeping up with technology has made for better communication and more streamlined operating practices.
Now after more than 35 years, Mott Appliance Repairs has changed oily hands.
Mott Appliance Repairs has also moved away from 209 Bish Road, where it has been for the past 18 years to 3 Cobb Court, Swan Hill.
Lionel and Karen Mott recently sold the Swan Hill-based business to Gerrard and Sharon Mitchell. Gerrard an A-grade electrician has worked with the Motts for the past five years and in this time has gained the necessary air-conditioning/refrigeration licenses and skills to continue on.
The staff, Rebekah Blair, Bill Jones and Peter MacDonald, who have also worked in the business for many years have followed the new owners.
Karen said Mott Appliance Repairs would continue to offer the same great service to all household appliances and air-conditioners.
Mott Appliance Repairs also sell the range of Speed Queen laundry equipment from household to commercial and are the authorised sales and installation centre for Hitachi Air-Conditioners.

Have Lionel and Karen retired? No far from it!
Karen has launched a brand new Swan Hill business, GuardnGrow.
The online shop at guardngrow.com.au/shop/ has a selection of weed/ mulch mats for your backyard trees and pot plants.
Karen said she knew there had to a better option to guard our trees and plants against the ongoing issue of weeds, harsh weather conditions, wind, dust, extreme heat, winter frosts and low rainfall.
She said the search led her to the coconut fibre weed/mulch mats, a simple and effective way to get the best from our plants.
"I have always mulched our trees and that's often heavy, hard work, then it all blows away, so after we come across these coconut fibre weed mats and used one, I was sold, such a simple and effective idea, so light weight and easy to use, great for the environment too," Karen said.
"So, after coming up with our branding, and dealing with a factory in China, we had a container load shipped here to 209 Bish Road earlier in the year.
"This on its own has been a very interesting journey, going from a very service based local business to learning many new skills about communicating with language and cultural differences in another country, navigating the production and shipping, then the online marketing."
GuardnGrow is an online shop, but is always open to the public by appointment, just phone Karen on 0407 324 518.
She would love to show you what these weed/mulch mats are all about.
"We will be at Market Day in Swan Hill, so come along and visit our table".
