A MUNICIPAL monitor has been appointed for Buloke Shire Council, confirmed in a sudden announcement on Monday by Local Government Minister Melissa Horne.

Former Greater Shepparton City Council chief executive Peter Harriott will monitor the council from Thursday until December 31.
