WARM cups of coffee and hot meat pies are proving to be warming up chilly residents this winter.

As temperatures dropped as low as 2C, and with a maximum temperature of only 10C on Thursday, Turners Bakery staff member Simone Taylor said the store had been busy baking.

"Always when it's cold we sell more of the hot stuff," she said.
