MURRAY River Council residents are set to be slugged with a 4.7 per cent rise in general rates as the council continues a service level review to "pursue internal savings".

The council said the draft 2024/25 budget was based on the total rate revenue increase, which was in line with the rate cap set by the Independent Pricing & Regulatory Tribunal of NSW.
