From hoof to hook

THE Hoof and Hook competition is a much loved and important event at the annual Swan Hill Show. This is where steers and prime lambs are judged as a live animal at the showgrounds as well as over the hook as a dressed carcass.

The competition came about in the mid 1970's when the show society formed a carcass committee consisting of local farmers, butchers and townspeople.
