Fire permits suspended

FIRE permits in the Balranald municipality have been suspended by NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) for more than a month due to "hot, dry and windy conditions".

NSW RFS Superintendent Steve Walker said the decision to suspend fire permits until January 20 had been made in order to help keep the local community safe from bush and grassfires over the festive period.
