WOORINEN District Primary School was awarded the Swan Hill municipality's Community Event of the Year on Australia Day for its effort in staging the State Schools Extravaganza.

The committee first came up with the idea of the State School Extravaganza after the cancellation of the Croc Festival, a funded project that promoted leadership through workshops and performances.
