A MAN who mowed down a mob of emus in an "extremely serious" act of animal cruelty has had his jail sentenced halved on appeal.

Jacob MacDonald was sentenced to 42 days jail when he fronted Mildura Magistrates' Court in May and pleaded guilty to aggravated cruelty to animals, destroying protected wildlife, careless driving and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
