Council election delay in New South Wales

MURRAY River Council (MRC) ratepayers will elect a new council on September 4 next year, following a year-long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The local council elections were postponed this year by the NSW Government in March, with Local Government Minister Shelley Hancock saying the decision was necessary to ensure the health and safety of voters, NSW Electoral Commission staff and election candidates.
