Covenants safeguard future land

MALLEE landholders have been urged to protect their property with voluntary conservation covenants and give threatened habitat a "forever home".

Trust for Nature's non-profit, three-year Iconic Estates - Murray River project aims to protect the vast floodplain of the river with conservation covenants, which are voluntary agreements on a property title enabling landholders to protect nature, even after the land changes hands.
