Council push for ‘fair’ school crossing funding

SWAN Hill Council will join a campaign urging the State Government to pay a fairer share of the cost of running the School Crossing Supervisor Program.

But the council stopped short of threatening to walk away from the program, which costs ratepayers more than $160,000 each year to supervise eight crossings at six schools in Swan Hill, Robinvale and Manangatang.
