CAROLYN Stewart has been returned unopposed as the mayor of Buloke Shire, in a vote of confidence in her leadership of the shire.

Cr Stewart was re-elected to the top local government job at a statutory meeting in Wycheproof on Wednesday night.

Councillors also elected a deputy mayor, with Cr David Pollard taking on a second term in the role.
