'Double hit' for grain growers in China

MALLEE grain growers copped a "double hit" this week with China's decision to impose an 80 per cent tariff on Australian barley imports.

The import tax will remain in place for five years, and is expected to put a stop to Australian sales to China due to an artificial price increase.
