An exhibit showcasing artworks by Mallee Artists Swan Hill (MASH) opens at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery tonight.

Running for three weeks, the theme of the exhibit is Earth Connections and will feature works in different mediums.

MASH president Judy Brawn said 12 artists would have artwork on display.

"Some people have been fairly traditional while others have been more abstract," she said.

"Then there are those who have used mixed media to lift their paintings off the canvas."

Ms Brawn said the theme related to anything that has "a connection with the earth".

"We did a big brainstorm during one of our meetings and someone came up with the Earth Connections idea," she said.

The Mallee Artists Swan Hill's Earth Connections exhibition will open tonight (Friday January 27), starting at 6pm.
