Unexpected surprise: Wrong year on time capsule

A GROUP of St Mary MacKillop College students from the class of 1998 eagerly waited until the opening of a mysterious time capsule in a plastic drum, but were left baffled by the outcome.

While the alumni who were able to make it to the capsule opening couldn't exactly remember what they might have put in, they definitely weren't expecting the surprise they got last Friday.

Drumroll please.

The time capsule was filled with items from 1987.

All that were involved were left "a little bewildered" as to how a plaque from 1998 was fixed to a time capsule from 1987, but nonetheless enjoyed taking a look into the past.

"Maybe the class of 1987 are the biggest pranksters of all," principal Michelle Haeusler said.
