DESPITE just three students enrolled, the school gates at Ultima will remain open this year.
Three students have commenced another school year in the Mallee wheat town.
Acting principal Sandi Spittal said two local families are attending the school with two students in grade one and one student in grade five.
The school is part of the Top Paddock Cluster of small schools within the Swan Hill region, which includes Lake Charm, Nullawil, Leitchville and Tempy primary schools.
"Over the past few years, the school has participated in cluster days with Lake Charm Primary School which have included Indonesian days, sleepovers, school excursions and camps," Ms Spittal said.
