New golden arches: Local fast-food franchise delivers the goods

THE Swan Hill Basketball Association has announced Swan Hill McDonald's as a major sponsor for the upcoming season and beyond.

Head coach of the Swan Hill Basketball Association, Colby Brown, is pleased to see the three-year partnership.

"They've also come to the party with a lot of equipment like basketballs, which is a huge cost to the game and to have them on board with help a lot," Brown said.

"It's a big boost for us and hopefully it's a long partnership we can progress for longer."

Swan Hill McDonald's branch restaurant manager Siobhon Barry, who has recently taken on the role after 11 years in Swan Hill, believes it is basketball's turn to receive financial backing.

"Maccas are all about helping the community out and in such a small community, it's really important that we help everyone out to continue to play the sports they love," Barry said.

"We supported the football teams all this year and now we'll support the basketball."
