The petition is expected to be presented in the Legislative Assembly by the Member for Murray Plains either today or tomorrow.

Television cameras and journalists descended on the Swan Hill Needs a New Hospital committee as they presented the petition on a 1900s Swan Hill hospital cane wheelchair.

Committee chairman Les McPhee previously said the petition was a major milestone in the community's campaign for a new hospital, and would ensure the message was heard by both sides and all levels of government.
