Swan Hill carjacking at knifepoint

Police are hunting two people who allegedly held a man at knifepoint in a frightening carjacking outside a licensed premises in Swan Hill on Sunday night. 

Swan Hill police had been told a 58-year-old man had been walking to his car, which was in a hotel car park off Curlewis Street, when a man and woman approached the victim prior to him getting into his car about 8pm.

The male victim, of no fixed address, got into a vehicle at which time one of the offenders approached him armed with a knife.

The pair punched and kicked the victim and demanded his wallet and phone before fleeing in his car.

He sustained minor injuries.

The car was later found dumped on Latje road, Robinvale about 10.30pm. 

Detective Senior Constable Kyllee Edis said no arrests had been made and the investigation remained ongoing.
