Discover Balranald & Surrounds has taken out bronze at this year's NSW Tourism Awards.
The local tourism campaign, that aims to attract visitors to Balranald, placed third in the Destination Marketing category.
Balranald Shire Council Tourism co-ordinator Connie Mallet said she was thrilled with the recognition for the community's hard work.
"The community and the tourism team are the ones who get visitors back to town because of their fantastic service," Ms Mallet said.
"I might be the co-ordinator, but it's been a team effort with the Shire, tourism committee and tourism operators.
"When the community really behind us, it definitely helps."
Ms Mallet said Discover Balranald & Surrounds was up against some tough competition.
"In the Destination and Marketing category, we were really competing with the big boys," she said.
"We don't have a lot of money for marketing compared to other places, so getting this recognition is such an honour.
"We got bronze, but we might as well have got the gold; in fact the nomination was pretty much like getting gold."
The NSW Tourism Awards recognise the state's best achievements in tourism and marketing.
