SWAN Hill circus lovers were in for a treat last weekend with Circus Royale in town for their 46th anniversary tour.
Boasting a show "set to have you on the edge of your seat," the big top went up at the Swan Hill Showgrounds on November 2.
Owner Damian Syred was excited to bring the popular circus back to the Heart of the Murray.
"This is real old-fashioned traditional circus, the way it was from our childhood. It's big, exciting and wonderful family entertainment," he said.
Kids and adults were treated to a combination of awe-inspiring displays of acrobatics, comic clown antics and death defying stunts.
The two-hour extravaganza featured 20 elite athletes and a number of international circus stars.
Mexican siblings Brandon, Geraldine and Hugo Fernandez risked their lives in the Globe of Death, performing nail-biting motorbike stunts.
Brazilian brothers Jonathan and Chiquino Reyes featured in a juggling act which kept audiences on their toes, while Pancholin the Chilean Clown was another notable attraction.
Another star from Chile, Susanna Reyes was a highlight, using her feet to shoot a bow and arrow. Baby camels, horses and dogs were a hit with the kids.
Renowned circus fare was also on offer, with cotton candy, popcorn, corn dogs and snow cones available.
Fire juggling acrobats heated things up a bit, as the colourful ringmaster and owner, Damian Syred kept things running as smoothly as possible.
Circus Royale put on a two hour extravaganza, with elements to appeal to people of all ages.
The circus was in Swan Hill for three days from November 3 to 5.
