THE finishing touches are being completed ahead of this year's Swan Hill District Health Ladies Auxiliary Open Garden Day on Sunday, October 22.
An annual tradition for more than the past two decades, the Open Garden Day showcases five gardens across Swan Hill.
Months of preparation are put in by the garden owners ahead of the day, which raises money for the hospital.
Entry is $4 per garden and the public can savour an afternoon tea, which will be available at the Pental Island Road address, for $5.
Ladies Auxiliary committee member Sue Parsons said the day always proved popular.
"The day has been going for more than 20 years and a highlight on the calendar," Ms Parsons said.
Each year more than 250 people from across Swan Hill and surrounding towns take in the wonderful gardens, which this year are located on Cleeland Drive, Aerodrome Road, Palaroo Street, Stradbroke Avenue and Pental Island Road.
Committee member Lorna Cooke is hoping for good weather to ensure attendance numbers remain high.
"We get people from Sea Lake, Woorinen, Nyah and Lake Boga as well as those from Swan Hill," Ms Cooke said.
Also available at Pental Island Road will be a plant and produce stall, so those inspired by the wonderful gardens they will see can provide a touch of the green thumb at their own homes.
Brochures are available at each garden.
Action opens from 12.30pm and will run until 5pm.
