THE Lake Boga Lions Club will celebrate 100 years of Lions International with a market on the banks of Lake Boga later this month.
The market will run from 8am to 1pm on Sunday, October 29, with 45 sites already booked.
"It's a free market for stallholders to celebrate 100 years of Lions, who first started in 1917," Lake Boga Lions Club president Ian Nancarrow said.
The Lions Club provides an important service to the community, raising funds and working to support local organisations.
"There are various food stalls already booked, lots of craft and arts, Later in the day Jan Preston will be performing close to the yacht club, they're going to put some fencing up and charge admission, that starts at 2pm," he said.
The market will have plenty of food and drink on offer and Mr Nancarrow people should come down, take a wander around the market, pop into the Flying Boat Museum or take a look at the ongoing work at the Catalina Cafe.
"The coffee shop isn't open yet, but they can have a look, see where state and council money is going. It'll be a good market, there are big sites, many are booked and we've still got plenty of time to take another 20 or 30 bookings from stallholders between now and then," he said.
The market will take place on the Lake Boga foreshore with plenty of trees providing shade and a beach view offering a picturesque backdrop.
Mr Nancarrow said any vendors interested in joining the market should sign up quickly and anyone looking for something to do on the Sunday should think about coming down to check it out.
"Lake Boga is a wonderful place to pop in and visit," he said.
