WOORINEN ace Doug Palmer will miss the first four games of next year's Central Murray Football Netball League season.

The Tigers star was handed a six-week ban, two of which were classified as a suspended sentence, at Monday night's tribunal hearing.

Palmer was found guilty of careless conduct following an incident from the second semi-final involving Kerang's Bronson Booth, which left the Blue with a broken jaw.

The panel found Palmer could have avoided the contact, with CMFNL Board chairman John Brookshaw saying the decision is pivotal to providing a duty of care for all players on the field.
