FOR the second time in as many race days at Swan Hill, local trainer Nathan Hobson has produced a winning double.
He had to wait until the last group of races on the day, but the wait was well worth it as four of Hobson’s horses came to the fore in the final three races.
Hobson regarded five-year-old gelding Sovereign Duke as his best shot, and he was just that, storming home to win comfortably in the 1200m Pooles Accountants BM64 Handicap.
The Duke’s win followed shortly after He’s The Sherriff victory in the 975m Swan Hill Bus Lines BM58 Handicap, who also won at his last Swan Hill run in early March.
You can hear from Nathan and catch a full wrap of Thursday's races in Monday's Guardian.
